Special Chains
Engineered for the Exception
When a standard roller chain will not survive the environment, abrasive dust, noise limits or extreme wear, the answer is a chain designed around that single problem.

Chains for Difficult Environments
Most drives are solved by a catalogue chain. The rest need something built around the failure mode: sealed joints where abrasive dust destroys bushes, silent chain where noise is regulated, or specialist constructions where standard steel simply wears out. Alongside those sit the purpose-built ranges for agriculture and motorcycles, where the duty cycle and the environment are nothing like a factory floor. This is the part of the programme that starts with the problem rather than the pitch.
- Low noise: inverted-tooth silent chain that meshes rather than impacts.
- Anti dust and abrasives: sealed and shielded joints for cement, aggregate and foundry duty.
- Galla and CC600: specialist high-wear constructions for continuous abrasive service.
- Agricultural chains: corrosion-resistant chains for harvesters, balers and feed systems.
- Motorcycle chains: sealed high-tensile drive chains for road and off-road use.

Five specialist families, each built around a single dominant failure mode.
How We Specify a Special Chain
Three questions decide the construction. Send us the answers and we will size the chain against them.
The Environment
- Abrasive dust and grit
- Washdown and chemicals
- High or low temperature
- Food-grade requirements
- Noise limits on site
The Duty Cycle
- Continuous or intermittent
- Shock and reversing loads
- Speed and pitch line velocity
- Required service interval
- Accessible for lubrication
The Construction
- Sealed or shielded joints
- Solid bush and roller
- Surface treatment or coating
- Special plate material
- Attachments and carriers
